    Sally Beauty Holdings (NYSE: SBH) is the world’s largest wholesale and retail distributor of beauty supplies.  Our world headquarters is conveniently located in Denton Texas, just 5 minutes north of Lake Lewisville off of I35E.

     

    We are currently searching for a Vice President of Transportation and Logistics to join our growing team.  The Vice President of Transportation provides overall direction and guidance of transportation activities of the organization in order to increase efficiency and profitability. The responsibilities will include the development of operating and capital plans, tracking, reporting and analysis of financial performance throughout the year. Position requires leadership of the day-to-day activities of the transportation organization relative to the short and long range goals of the company.

    Responsibilities

    • Develop and manage the freight-operating budget with the goal of negotiating and selecting the best carriers, optimizing costs, while providing the best service model for the company.
    • Lead strategy and execution of supply chain operations including forecasting, vendor relations, purchasing, freight management, and third-party fulfillment.
    • Assuring necessary tools and mechanisms are leveraged to forecast, track and report relevant operating statistical and financial performance measures for all logistics/facilities functions to maintain cost effectiveness.
    • Assure execution of duties are within Company standards and systems, evaluate procedures for analyzing financial performance. Provide recommendations to GVP for improving accuracy of financial analysis.
    • Drive supplier development, related to delivery performance within fulfillment facilities. Make improvements on vendor/supplier delivery performance.
    • Create and execute strategies to improve process productivity and reduce freight costs while improving business profitability.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree
    • 10-15 years of Traffic/Freight Management, Distribution, and Transportation experience in retail or   similar environment
    • Previous experience in a fast paced, high volume organization, which mandates quick decision-making and effective communication.
    • Expansive exposure and experience in contract negotiations.
    • Proficient in Excel, Word and freight rating software
    • Excellent written and oral skills
    • Practical experience with a Transportation Management System and Freight Audit System including inquiry and report writing
    • Experience performing in a goal setting environment
