    Sally Beauty Holdings (NYSE: SBH) is the world’s largest wholesale and retail distributor of beauty supplies.  Our world headquarters is conveniently located in Denton Texas, just 5 minutes north of Lake Lewisville off of I35E. We currently have an opening for a Sr. Accounting Specialist. 

     

    Our Sr. Accounting Specialist computes, classifies, and records numerical data to keep financial records complete. Performs complex calculating, posting, and verifying duties to obtain primary financial data for use in maintaining accounting records. Verifies the accuracy of figures, calculations, and postings pertaining to business transactions recorded by other workers.

    Responsibilities

    • Compiles statistical, financial, accounting or auditing reports and tables pertaining to such matters as cash receipts, expenditures, accounts payable and receivable, and profits and losses
    • Calculates, prepares, and issues account statements, and other financial statements according to established procedures. Checks figures, postings, and documents for correct entry, mathematical accuracy, and proper codes. Complies with federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations.
    • Utilizes various accounting software to record, store, and analyze information. Debits, credits, and totals accounts on spreadsheets and databases, using specialized accounting software
    • Classifies, records, and summarizes numerical and financial data to compile and keep financial records, using electronic journals and ledgers. Codes items according to company procedures.
    • Accesses financial information to answer general questions as well as those related to specific accounts.

    Qualifications

    • High School Diploma; Associates degree in Accounting preferred
    • Minimum of 6 hours of college-level Accounting
    • 3 years experience in accounting or related field
    • Experience and knowledge of Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, etc.
    • Ability to proficiently operate 10-key calculators and to perform calculations and produce documents
    • Ability to interface with various levels of management, along with excellent communication skills
    • Ability to prioritize and complete multi tasks with accuracy
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality
