    Sally Beauty Holdings (NYSE: SBH) is the world's largest wholesale and retail distributor of beauty supplies.  Our world headquarters is conveniently located in Denton Texas, just 5 minutes north of Lake Lewisville off of I35E.  

     

    We are currently searching for a Sr. Manager of Store Safety and Distribution Centers.  This person will be responsible for leading and reinforcing the safety culture at Sally Beauty Holdings by providing strategy, leadership and subject matter expertise. The Sr. Manager of Safety is responsible for promoting a strong workplace safety, health, and environmental program for the organization. The Sr. Manager of Safety, in partnership with Risk Management, Human Resources and Operations Business Leaders will drive the goal of “Zero Accidents” through a proactive, safe work practice that utilizes prevention and mitigation techniques when assessing potential risks. Our ideal candidate for this position has highly developed communication skills, is a team player, strategic & creative, has excellent project management skills and the ability to drive performance from all areas within the company. This position will report to the Loss Prevention VP and will be based between the corporate office in Denton Texas and field.

    Responsibilities

    • Lead in the Development, Implementation and Management of company-wide Safety Program.
    • Lead the effective management, motivation, and training of safety, and regulatory compliance.
    • Maintain current knowledge of trends and practices and remains apprised of industry standards, technology, developments, and regulatory changes.
    • Identify and implement best practices into Company’s standards to continuously improve safety practices.
    • Driving the adoption of strategic visions and ideas, building trust and confidence with Leadership teams throughout the organization.
    • Influencing change across stakeholders from multiple business groups, and implementing comprehensive risk assessments and safety data analysis.
    • Drive Communication and Reporting.
    • Responsible for the preparation and dissemination of reports as directed by management which includes “ad hoc” reporting.
    • Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data; making recommendations, trends and recommended next steps.
    • Manage the Safety KPIs, e.g. Incident Rate, Severity Rate, Frequency Rate, Preventable Auto Rate and other trends to identify areas where we can continue to account for and mitigate risks and drive the Safety Program.
    • Collaborate Effectively Across all Organizations
    • Measure regional and Distribution Center performance against requirements in safety policies and identify a plan to implement and address negative trends and deficiencies.
    • Ensure consistent and timely training in partnership with Leaders in Company safety policies and assist in incorporating safety standards at the local level.
    • Provide guidance and oversight to guarantee compliance with Company Safety policies.
    • Communicate expectations and provide consistent and appropriate feedback to safety team to ensure performance of core competencies.
    • Safety Incident Management
    • Work with senior leadership to establish goals, metrics, and priorities for safety across multiple organizations.
    • Manage regulatory challenges and advise management on recommended course of action.
    • Manage safety incidents and data integrity to ensure accurate reporting and metrics and support business safety initiatives.
    • Manage OSHA citations and investigations in conjunction with Risk Management, Legal and Human Resources.
    • Analyze metrics and review monthly incidents to understand trends and align resources to focus where safety risk is frequent.
    • Audit data collection and reporting practices to confirm compliance with federal and state regulations.
    • Embody the safety culture to change behavior and emphasize the benefits of the Safety Program.

    Qualifications

    • 5+ years corporate and field management safety experience in the retail industry preferred.
    • Bachelor's Degree and/or progressive management work experience
    • Course of Study: Safety, Environmental Sciences, Risk Management or related field
    • Required license or certification: CSP, CRSP, CHST, CUSA, OSHA, MSHA
    • Experience in implementing awareness/branding campaigns and techniques to create and maintain a strong safety culture
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Strong analytical skills
    • Proficient in Excel, Word, Power Point, and Outlook
