Overview

Sally Beauty Holdings, the world’s largest wholesale and retail distributor of beauty supplies, is currently searching for an Assistant Buyer. Our world headquarters is conveniently located just 5 minutes north of Lake Lewisville off of I35E.

 

The Assistant Buyer supports Buyers and/or Category Managers to ensure maximum inventory control is maintained in the company distribution centers. Will also provide support for ad-hoc projects, as needed.

Responsibilities

Daily Reports: 

  • Reviews, follows up, keeps current the following reports: Service Levels, Expediting, Daily Inventory Adjustments, Pending Discontinues, Pending Automatics and Open PO Report

Communication:

  • Answers department phone calls related to the following:
  • Stores/field management questions, requests for special orders, other
  • DC’s issues related to receipts, back orders, appointments, Miss-Ships, RTVs, etc.
  • Vendor communication related to DC or store issues, new item sheet receipt/completion, UPC issue resolution, monthly ad and general contract generation/completion, and advertising confirmations
  • Blue Notes – generates blue note communication to stores
  • Manages collection for marketing images
  • No Thank You letters generated and sent related to product submissions
  • Misc – sends/communicates with Graphic Image, interacts with customer service on issues related to department

Product Related:

  • Completes and enters New Item Set Up
  • Generates markdowns, Price Increase/Decrease paperwork, enters promotional costs in systems
  • Enters limited Automatics to stores as directed by CM/Buyer
  • Maintain Model Store in general and for promotional reasons

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Business Administration preferred.
  • 1-3 years previous experience in a purchasing/merchandising department helpful.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office Software.
  • Ability to travel to off-site meetings.
  • Excellent Communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Excellent Organizational skills
  • Ability to coordinate multiple tasks in various environments
  • Ability to work with multiple departments and various levels of management.
  • Ability to present and maintain a professional image and relationship with customers, vendors, and other departmental staff.
