Overview

Sally Beauty Holdings (NYSE: SBH) is the world's largest wholesale and retail distributor of beauty supplies.  Our world headquarters is conveniently located in Denton Texas, just 5 minutes north of Lake Lewisville off of I35E.  

 

We are currently seeking a Product Safety & Regulatory Affairs Manager to join our team.  This person will provide technical expertise in product safety assessments and ensure regulatory compliance of private label products both domestically and internationally. They will also provide guidance in regulatory review of branded products.

Responsibilities

  • Private Label Product Development:
    • Work with Merchandizing, contract vendors, and oversee Product Safety Scientists, Regulatory Affairs Specialists, and Quality Control Specialist in the development of private label products (liquids, hard goods, and electrical items). Troubleshoot issues and challenges to ensure on-time delivery of product launch.  Review Product Dossier content for completeness dependent on individual registration market. Work with Regulatory Affairs Specialists and vendors to obtain required data, including raw material and packaging component data should local manufacturing is needed.  Work with Product Safety Scientists to prepare finished product safety assessments.  Assist regional colleagues to facilitate product registration/notification in all applicable markets, e.g., Chile, Peru, Colombia, UK, Belgium, etc.
  • Branded Product Review: Assist in review of branded products (liquids, hard goods, and electrical items) for regulatory compliance in each market where we distribute.
  • Maintain up-to-date US and international regulations that are applicable to our business, and anticipate future changes.
  • Supervise and train Product Safety Scientists, Regulatory Affairs Specialists, Quality Control Specialist, and Regulatory Affairs Coordinator.  Offer technical guidance when necessary.

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Toxicology, Pharmacology, Biomedical Sciences, Chemistry, or related fields.
  • Minimum 7 years of cosmetic industry experience.
  • Qualified Product Safety Assessor
  • Proven Track Record in successful International product registration.
  • Experience in US and international cosmetic regulatory issues
  • Good knowledge of computer software including Microsoft Word, Excel, and database systems such as Access, etc. 
  • Must have good writing ability, communication skills, and organization skills
