CosmoProf, a Sally Beauty Holdings company, is currently searching for enthusiastic Buyer to join our growing CosmoProf team!  At CosmoProf, we dedicate ourselves to licensed professionals in the Beauty Industry and are committed to making our salon professional customers feel inspired to be their best! Due to exciting growth, we currently have an opening for a Buyer in our CosmoProf division. These positions will be responsible for buying merchandise or commodities for resale to consumers at the wholesale or retail level, including both durable and nondurable goods. Analyzes past buying trends, sales records, price, and quality of merchandise to determine value and yield. Selects orders, and authorizes payment for merchandise according to contractual agreements. Directly accountable to customers, on matters of service level and new products.

 

Responsibilities

  • Selects, orders, and purchases merchandise consistent with quality, quantity, and specification requirements. Negotiate prices; discount terms, and transportation arrangements for merchandise. Ensures that merchandise is ordered, received and available to customers in a timely, efficient and cost effective manner.
  • Analyzes and monitors sales records, trends and economic conditions to anticipate consumer buying patterns and determine what the company will sell and how much inventory is needed.
  • Ensure vendor participation in company sponsored events such as sales meeting and trade shows.
  • Assist category manager in special projects involving other departments including accounting issues, shows, and customer meetings.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years purchasing experience, preferably in retail or health and beauty supplies
  • 3+ years general retail operations experience.
  • JDA experience preferred
  • Knowledge of the beauty industry and equipment and fixtures is strongly preferred
  • Responsible for merchandising lines that require a greater level of experience (would include those involving large item counts and specialized industry products)
  • Ability to travel to other meeting sites.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple tasks in various environments
  • Ability to work with multiple departments and various levels of management
  • Ability to present and maintain a professional image with customers.
  • Ability to maintain a professional relationship with customers, vendors and other departmental staff.
