Sally Beauty Holdings (NYSE: SBH) is the world’s largest wholesale and retail distributor of beauty supplies.  Our world headquarters is conveniently located in Denton Texas, just 5 minutes north of Lake Lewisville off of I35E.

 

We currently have an opening for a Director of IT Retail Systems. Our Director of Retail Systems is responsible for delivering key strategic and operational projects in Sally Beauty Retail business areas. The selected candidate will possess advanced expertise level in the subject of Retail Point of Sale and deployment while working closely with other key individuals or departments depending on the project assigned. The primary focus of this role is centered on supporting the implementation, roll-out and support of Sally Beauty retail system applications (such as Oracle Micros POS) in North America and the selected candidate must possess both functional and technical expertise in these applications. Responsible for developing and implementing IT initiatives that will advance operational efficiencies, improve company-wide decision-making and communication, increase revenues, drive cost efficiencies, and strengthen financial reporting and controls, in a rapidly growing retail organization.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the key liaison between IT and Business community to ensure business end users can perform their jobs efficiently and effectively.
  • Oversee and provide direction to the IT Retail Systems teams & oversee the day to day operations of the teams. This includes production support and delivery of major and minor enhancements / projects.
  • Responsible for the technical solution and detailed design & determine the fitment for the business requirements.
  • Identify process and system gaps and map to appropriate business enhancements.
  • Work with business analysts and/or team leads, developers and internal applications personnel to implement enhancements or enable new functionalities.

  • Achieves efficient cost control by operating within the operational budget and achieve Corporate Sales and EBITA objectives. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in a business related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • A minimum of 8 - 10 years of experience in package software implementation.
  • Previous experience implementing Oracle Micros XStore preferred.
  • Previous IT experience in a multi-unit retail environment preferred.
  • Capable of working in fast paced environment with competing priorities.
  • Proven ability to manage projects and timelines to successful completion.
  • General knowledge of business processes and their interrelationship gained through ten or more years of related experience. 
  • Ability to follow and implement guidelines to ensure SOX and PCI compliance.
  • Ability to analyze and resolve complex issues, both logical and interpersonal.
  • Effective verbal and written communications skills and effective presentation skills, all geared toward coordination and education.
  • Ability to negotiate and resolve conflict.
  • Self-motivator, independent, cooperative, flexible, creative.
  • Ability and willingness to travel when necessary.
  • Ability to provide leadership and guidance to both direct and indirect reports.
