Sally Beauty Holdings (NYSE: SBH) is the world’s largest wholesale and retail distributor of beauty supplies.  Our world headquarters is conveniently located in Denton Texas, just 5 minutes north of Lake Lewisville off of I35E.

 

We currently have an opening for a Claims Manager. Our Claims Manager will have overall responsibility for all claim activity, specifically for various high exposure (> $100,000 or high profile) non-liability related claims (worker’s compensation, unemployment, property/cargo, travel accident and auto), seeking to minimize the Company’s financial exposure and ensure effective administration of claims on a global basis. Achieves operational objectives by contributing information and recommendations to risk management plans, preparing and completing action plans, resolving problems, identifying trends and determining system improvements and overseeing implementation of changes.  Contributes to talent development through training and coaching claim coordinators at all levels.  Responsible for financial analysis of both monthly insurance accruals and semi-annual actuarial analysis to determine final insurance reserves, working in conjunction with Risk Analyst.

Responsibilities

  • Direct responsibility for high profile/exposure claims on all Property, Casualty and Executive Risk lines, including oversight and coordination of communication efforts and closure strategies both internally and externally through resolution. 
  • Monitoring of claim reserves and case administration for entire book of claims, including settlement and reserve strategies. 
  • Works with various departments, including Human Resources, Legal and Accounting along with Sr. Director on high profile cases to resolve/mitigate damages. 
  • Coordinates internal/external information exchange on foreign liability claims for insurance accruals and claim resolution strategies.
  • Develops and recommends global claim processes, monitoring compliance of same. 
  • Develops and provides training as needed throughout the organization. 
  • Works with Loss Prevention to identify and report WC claim trends for inclusion in strategic loss mitigation plans. 
  • Coordinates interdepartmental communications on property claim processing and reimbursements, including resulting accounting treatment. 
  • Reviews and approves all loss reports
  • Key contact with service providers (TPA, Broker’s) on all claim management/resolution related activities. 
  • Includes, but is not limited to, identification of strategic case management opportunities for cost reduction/containment. 
  • Oversees quarterly broker WC closure project, data analytics and validation of loss trending analysis, in addition to coordinating training, monitoring user access and scheduling claim reviews with service providers.  
  • Reviews monthly insurance accruals prepared by RM Staff, including reconciliation of daily ACH transactions against summary loss information for accuracy and timing differences. 
  • Prepares claims data for semi-annual actuarial analysis and works with accounting to resolve differences.
  • Monitors and ensures departmental claim processing controls for SOX compliance related to insurance reserves. 
  • Reviews claim invoices for accuracy and authorization.  
  • Special projects as assigned. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business required.
  • 7-10 years’ experience in Risk Management, Worker’s Compensation claims or closely related field.
  • Ability to prioritize and complete multiple, competing tasks.
  • Ability to interface with various levels of management, including executive style communications.
  • Technical Insurance knowledge and strong analytical skills required
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office.
  • High Accountability and follow up.

  • Decision making and problem solving skills.
  • Strong Project Management skills.
