Sally Beauty Holdings, the world’s largest wholesale and retail distributor of beauty supplies, is currently searching for an HR Business Partner to join our global HR team.  We are currently building a best in class HR team to align strategically with our business units including HR Business partners, centers of excellence and shared service centers.  The team has representation around the globe and is committed to the importance of the employee experience shown by our investment and focus on development of initiatives for our people.


We are searching for an HRBP, Director of Stores to join our growing team!  This person will strategically facilitate and drive HR strategies and services. Lead a team of Human Resources Business Partner’s (HRBP) to effectively delivery of HR services in supporting business initiatives. Serve as the primary HR contact to Senior Leaders in field operations on all HR programs, and regularly provides HR status updates to the Store Ops and HR Management team.



  • Creates and executes a stores talent strategy, in partnership with Sr. Director, that includes robust selection / onboarding, talent building, and performance management processes with a focus on the key aspects of the CAN DO culture that can lead to better talent recruitment and retention. Partners with management to continually evaluate and develop all associates within the organization. This would include career planning, mentoring programs, and skill building.
  • Creates and executes, in partnership with Sr. Director, a proactive associate relations strategy for the field. Leads a team that effectively manages performance issues, policy interpretation, unemployment, worker’s comp, terminations, RIFs, etc. Partners with Education team to provide input and deliver associate related training courses to field associates.
  • On an ongoing basis, audit operations to measure compliance in regards to compensation, employment and all HR guidelines.
  • Embodies and articulates the vision of the brand. Maintain, improve and uphold the Sally Beauty brand so that it is associated with positive results. Lead/Manage team that continually have a focus on our brand to drive customer satisfaction, in-store presentation, and competition resulting in higher sales products associated with our brand.
  • Takes on additional responsibility as assigned. Strategic assignments/projects that impact stores and SBH will be assigned as needed. May work with cross-functional teams.



  • Bachelor Degree in Human Resources highly preferred.
  • Must have a minimum of seven to ten years in progressive HR generalist experience with at least three 3 to 5 years in HR leadership position overseeing a team.
  • High energy level, comfortable performing multifaceted projects in conjunction with day-to-day activities. Must have the ability to get along with diverse personalities, tactful, and flexible.
  • Strong project management and operations skills with demonstrated ability to manage large-scale projects and initiatives using influence and indirect management skills. Ability to prioritize multiple functions and tasks and manage on time delivery of work.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with proven ability to organize and analyze data, using HRIS data as support. This includes reviewing the data to understand trends and develop recommendations for action based activity.
  • Drive people management excellence using communications, coaching.
  • Ability to establish strong relationships at all levels throughout the organization and cross functionality as well as support teams in multiple locations. Must be able to work in a high-volume, deadline driven environment. Flexible work style and approach based on client needs.
  • Strong mindset for continuous improvement and meeting or exceeding expectations.
  • Knowledgeable in the areas of human resources, legal compliance, EEOC guidelines and training required.
  • Proficiency with MS Office a must.
  • Excellent grammar, verbal and writing skills.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and telephone skills.
